• What is an entryTicket?

  When you enter an event (be it a concert, sporting event, festival etc) your entrance ticket is generated as an Adobe Acrobat pdf document and made available for you to download from the entryTickets.net website. Each ticket has a unique barcode which allows the event organizer to identify the validity of the ticket.

  
  
• Why use entryTickets?

  Ever bought a ticket to an event online and found you still have to queue up to collect the ticket!? What's the point of that? You may as well just buy the ticket from the collection point and skip the online payment part all together! At entryTickets we believe the Internet should be used to simplify your life! When you enter an event that uses entryTickets your ticket is available for you to download and print at your leisure. No queues!

  
  
• Do I need a special printer to print the ticket?

  No. Just print the ticket as you would print any other document. The ticket is in pdf format - most likely you will have Adobe Acrobat Reader already installed but in the unlikely event that you don't, you can install it by going here.

  
  
• How do they work?

  When you present your ticket at the event, the event organizer will scan the barcode on the ticket. This will pull up your details that were stored when you purchased the ticket. The ticket can only be scanned once so should any copies be made only the first scan will be validated and any subsequent scans will be invalid.

  
  
• How does it work for event organizers?

  As an event orgainzer you will be able to login to your event organizer account and download the barcode reader. In addition, at anytime, you may login and download the very latest entry data stored for your event. This data is uploaded into your barcode reader application which you can run on your laptop. Plug a barcode scanner into the USB port of your laptop and you are good to go! Barcode reader's can be hired for the day from entryTickets or purchased from us for R490. If your event is small (around 100 or less entrants) you can download the entry data as an excel spreadsheet and just tick entrants off as they present their tickets.

When you use our entryTickets system we will:

As an event organizer you will be able to login to our site and download the latest up-to-the-second ticket sales details. This is available in two formats - for viewing as an excel spreadsheet or as a data file for upload into the barcode reader application.

The barcode reader application reads in scanned tickets and notifies you whether the ticket is valid along with the ticket holder's details. The application can be run on any Windows PC or laptop and does not require an Internet connection. The barcode scanner is simply plugged into your USB port. If you don't have a barcode scanner - no worries! We have scanners available for hire or sale.

If you are running a smaller event, you may decide that a barcode scanner is not necessary. In this case simply download and print out your excel spreadsheet out and tick-off ticket holders as they arrive.

Your ticket holders will love you for not making them queue! No need to worry about unscrupulous "ticket scalps" either - with the scan-once barcoded ticket they are out of business. It is even possible to do detailed analysis of ticket processing after your event as scan times are captured.
